Yeah, but it would complicate things. KISS method, use the Claxton Shield method starting from extra innings/time. Good luck to Wests and Padres tonight

I don't like any of these ways of settling a tie. For 150 yrs you play until there's a winner -- no putting guys on base to start an inning or changing whose turn it is to hit. If it's a 25 inning game, then so be it. Play ball! I'm old school tho.

West's into the final. To their credit, they fought hard and after a big first couple of innings, came out on top 8-2 F/8

Disappointing finish to the season for Padres but they were simply outplayed last night by a very well drilled Wests. Hats off to them and "coach of the year" Al Connors. My tip for the Grand Final is Wests in 3.

Who? West's? Hardly, I'd call them under-rated. They beat Padres and Surfers, so it's no fluke

BY-LAWS: Rule 3.27 "Major League and Pacific League (A and B Grade) starting teams shall consist of nine players who have not taken part in any fixture for that day.
Rule 3.28 "A breach of By-law 3.27 will be deemed a forfeit by the offending team playing on that day.
The way myself and many others saw it, if Windsor won A Grade, they would have lost on forfeit.

Is the DH considered part of the starting team in A Grade. Or if he Dhes in B Grade has he taken part in a fixture. This has been going on for a very long time. Clubs have been DHing pitchers in B Grade then they pitch in A Grade and vice versa.
What should the league be doing? Enforce the bylaw to the letter of the law, or going along with the convention that has been played for a long time? Should the bylaw be re-written to include DHes as part of the starting team?
If Windsor had won yesterday, should they have been fofeited?

It's a hard one as 3.30 states
For Major League and Pacific League games, the designated hitter shall not be counted in the starting nine players.

Its not a hard one, read rule 3.27,a player who has already taken part in a fixture cannot be in the starting 9. If a player is DH he gets probably 4 at bats which constitutes taking part in the game. JRA Rule 3.30 refers to the DH only, the player in question played 2nd base in A Grade not DH. Homer,I have been involved in A Grade for a very long time and do not know of A Grade pitchers that DH B Grade. If they do it should be a forfeit as the rule is so very clear. If this is allowable what stops the best hitter in each club being DH in B Grade then playing A Grade?
