Padres will NOT be putting in a protest about the SQBL A grade. That option was never even considered for a second.
Quit trying to "assume" that teams/coaches other than your own are all corrupt and will do anything to get the result they want...it's just not the case.
BOTH teams accept the result.
sorry 44...no "girly style" crying......

Ok - over move on with this thread.
Padres v Windsor tonight (at Rapids) and West and Surfers (game 2)
Good series of games so far. All games have been decided by a run.

what a great series between windsor and redcliffe over the weekend. windsor dug themselves a hole but dug themselves out. although the series was 2-1, windsor really should have won all three games and surprised the over confident padres. they showed a lot of discipline and desire to come back after the heartbreaking loss on friday night and did the smalle things right when they had to for the remainder of the series. while windsor may not have the strongest team on paper in regards to signed players and former pros, they are always having fun out there and the team dynamic is one that is required out of a very successful team. windsor played their best game of the series on tuesday night with one unfortunate inning where all that could go wrong did gor wrong but they fought through and maintained their focus to limit the bleeding and strike right back when they needed it most. congratulations to windsor and good luck in the final. also, good luck to wests and surfers tonight and i am looking forward to an exciting grand final. sweep and don't get swept

There would have been plenty of "former pro's" there, just none that windsor developed themselves.

I agree that the hard fought semis series between Windsor and Padres was as tight as anyone could hope and Windsor deserved their win into the Grand Final. Well done to their team.
Not too many "signed players and former pros" in the "over-confident" Padres side, though. In fact, not an import to be seen.

I saw every inning of all 3 games and thought that both teams equally dug themselves big holes. However Windsor was the team that battled the hardest and showed great team spirit. Padres looked the team most likely to score more runs but stumbled way too often. Padres will be re-focusing on the things that got them this far and with hopefully some team harmony I expect a return to form this weekend against the Al Connors coached Wests.
"Over-confident", not too sure but I know the 10 nil win a week before the playoffs didn't help.

Let me start by prefacing I have no bias either way to the two teams that played the SQBL A semi final that has been the hot topic here for accusations and assumptions.
What should be the focus is that umpires, scorers and coaches have played the extra innings in the spirit this great game should be played. For that they should be commended.
Instead, parties here have rushed to have the BQI rule book waved in their faces about the game supposed to have being ended as a draw. I know we play to time during the regular season and draws do happen. (And doesn't that leave both teams with a hollow feeling?) However, this is finals baseball, the best teams fighting for their seasons to stay alive and make a grand final.
The game of baseball regardless of how long it takes at the end of normal innings is played for a result. That is, we get a winner and a loser, always has been and should always continue to be. Instead the fabric and tradition of the game is being eroded by bureaucratic incompetence and BS.
So do teams in the off season now go out and look to draft a team accountant? This person or firm then comes along to finals games so that if it ends in a draw we give them the stats and data for the season and they work out a winner. Sounds absurd and far fetched, problem is though, stats counting is what would have happened last weekend if the game was stopped as a draw.
Again, well done to both teams and officials whether intentional or unintentionally doing the right thing by the players, their supporters and playing for a result on the field and not in a BQI bureaucrats office somewhere.

Common sense is being used. The games played over the past couple of nights have shown this.
Hopefully the rule in question disappears next year.
It will be interesting to see what happens on the weekend with Ului forecast to hit somewhere.
Can BQ disclose plan B if it buckets down this weekend?
Will common sense continue and Is it back to mid week games?

If it buckets down I assume we do what we did last week, which is play mid-week. Both ML A, ML B and SQBL A did that this week with make up games on Tuesday, Wednesday and last night.
Padres up 9-0 against West's tonight. Some great pitching from Rodney Wodson.

agreed. the redcliffe and windsor series demonstrated redcliffe's own ability to lack what should be some great teamwork and support among their own team mates. the players weren't talking or encouraging eachother and consequently didn't perform at their best. i do believe however, that after a great win against west's on friday night at rapids that redcliffe is proving they've got what it takes to take down windsor, if they face them in finals.
