I'm a big fan of the new BQ Majors/Pacific League concept. I think most Brissy baseball fans are from what I have heard. Best thing for Top Level baseball in SE QLD for many years IMO. Question is ?? Who will make the top 8 first season? I have 2 Teams as LOCK so far, Northside is Padres and Southside is Surfers Paradise. 6 spots open What say you

Truthfully, I would say those teams that have a regular squad for the entire year. Some teams rely on their pro ball players and from what I'm hearing won't be back to get alot of game time before the first 7.5 weeks. So those teams with local players should do well. Indians will be a certainty.

Lightning Surfers Padres Royals Musketeers Rays Rapids (if they meet ML criteria) Indians (if they meet ML criteria)

well there would be three teams that would make it first because they would make ml criteria, and they would be padres , pine hills and surfers, but with indians, rapids, windsor making the criteria they would have to be in the 8.

I can easily predict that the best 8 clubs will be the best slyest (if that's a word) cheats and they would be...

Looking at the GBL Junior draws, Rapids, Mudgee and Rangers would not be in contention for the Major League as they are not fielding Under 16 teams. This would automatically put them into the Pacific League if the criteria is adhered to as I'm sure it will be.

Lightning Surfers Padres Royals Musketeers Rays Rapids (if they meet ML criteria) Indians (if they meet ML criteria) I agree with JRAqld except i'd put in Wests and take out Redlands. Wests are the big improvers for mine this year. Looking at the draw Mudgee and Surfers have no GBL U14's, is that part of the ML criteria or does having junior teams in the GCBA league qualify ??

As long as they have the junior teams in the GCBA comp, they can apply to have that count towards the ML criteria. There are a few more hoops for them to jump through as well.

It's a round robin tournament where more than half the teams make the grade. Therefore finishing with a 500 record would get you in. 8 wins is the magic number for mine, 7 will more than likely get you there as well. Going on that, it's hard to see much movement from where the 8 currently is. I think you are right teebag , 7 wins .500 should make the cut but 8 wins assured ( depending on criteria )

The way I was to understand it, there was no guarantee 8 clubs would end up in the top league. ie you had to make the top 8 and make criteria, otherwise you were in the bottom league. Like there could end up with a top 6 and bottom 9 league or something
Search through user 'BQ Office's posts, I'm sure they said something to that effect on here. No time to find it myself, I has to gets to Narangba.

It could be that it isn't a top 8 -- could be the best teams comprise the Pacific League. So, what we could get is two leagues -- a group who meet criteria and a group who don't. It might be that standard of play doesn 't enter into it -- in the long run. Ha! How ironic would that be.
