Straight from the source:
Justin Erasmus is starting for South Africa V Mexico tomorrow.
Good Luck Justin from all of QLD Baseball.
Well done to the Aussies but Cuba will be a much stronger team unit and now the heavy favourites to win the Pool.
Although Mexico has many MLB players, team unity and spirit counts for much as the Mangy Dogs from Downunder proved.

Three balks in the Aus vs Cuba match so far, I'm just watching it through play-by-play, but that's a lot of balks for an international match, you hardly see them from anything above U16's..

JRA Qld2
In real baseball they call balks by the rule book, in Qld they make up they're own rules game by game. I witnessed it again on the weekend, what wasn't a balk in an A grade final last year "because we havn't called balks on minor things for years" was called a balk by the same umpire in a regular game.
Which rule book do we go by this week Mr. Umpire?

For players of international standard they shouldn't be balking no matter how minor.
In Majors I'll always call a balk no matter how minor.. I got abused by the two Duttons for calling a minor balk in A's the other week, but a balk is a balk and in senior ball I can't really see why any umpire should let it go..
