It's a shame that a few of the teams are playing teams from their region, but I'm just glad the tournament has the green light. Can't wait for it and I think the girls will suprise a few people

Just a shame that the weather looks like cancelling this one as well. I've been to the last 2 years tournys at Runcorn with Pine Hills kids, we always try and send 2 equal teams for development. The Indians people always host a great Tourny also. It's always fun, and you are correct JR. More fun when they get to play other regions teams if they can rather than the teams they play every saturday.

Just a shame that the weather looks like cancelling this one as well. Say it ain't so..... Sorry to say that it is Official. From the BQ site: Peter McClenahan, Friday, 13 February 2009 The GBL LL Tournament planned for this Saturday has been cancelled due to the inclement weather. Yeah same. It doesn't look plausable to reschedule, I'm upset that both tournaments got cancelled. A lot of training for not much

The same draw, venue and timing will be in place. Peter McClenahan

Mmm, although I like the initiative, doesn't this mean another round of fixtures will be cancelled? I suppose they could be played during the week..

Don't see much of a problem. If tomorrows games weren't cancelled due to the tournament, they would have been due to the fields being under water....

I'm glad to see BQ and GBL try and get this LL-U12 Tourny in another day. I feel it is a very important development step at this age group. Thumbs up to BQ / GBL I say.
If it means cancelling another day of Regional Saturday games, I support it 100%.
The GBL U12 Club tourny is a great development step for kids across Brisbane, let's make it happen.

The problem is - as noone seems to care - more kids won't be playing that day then will be playing. I seriously doubt all of Padres kids are playing in their one team, nor Pine Hills, or Redlands, Windsor? Plus its the first weekend of Metro semi-finals, and the last round of U14 fixtures, including possibly some very important games to determine who's unlimately in or out of the finals - why should they take a back seat? Is another instance of no communication, to the detriment of all but a few.

The problem is - as noone seems to care - more kids won't be playing that day then will be playing. All clubs had a chance to nominate, so if their teams aren't playing, thats their own fault, they should have nominated. Pine hills even nominated 2 teams, which was an option given to all clubs. As I have stated before I think this a great idea, and I am glad Qld baseball didn't give up on due to the rain. Is another instance of no communication, to the detriment of all but a few. As for no communication, I know there was plenty of communication between a number of coaches and BQ after the rain to make sure this tournament went ahead for the enjoyment of 12 teams of 14+ players (thats 168+ little leaguers).
