My son is an baseball nut, playing only 6 months a year is simply not enough for him. He plays u12 for in the north Brisbane comp. Can anyone tell me if BQ has any winter games (competition or social) for junior players?

The sunshine coast used to run one years ago.. I think if they run one this year, the closest one is at the Gold Coast

XECUTER,
As JRA said, I believe Sunshine Coast had ( not sure now) and Gold Coast does more comps in Winter.
Also. Lismore Timberjacks Winter Tournament is very good. I know Brisbane METRO always tries to send 2 x u14 and 2 x u12 development teams each year and I believe Brisbane North had teams there in 2008. No matter what Club your boy is signed for, he could play cross region with winter teams I'm sure with BQ approval.
A North Brisbane Winter U12 comp not a bad idea but it would need discussion with all Northside Clubs and BQ to make it happen.
One problem is that most baseball kids get into Footy mode in the various codes that time of year so numbers and available players are slim to get a winter comp going.
Also, BQ has a couple of winter development training routines. ( BRICKS and Mighty Maroons)
I'd suggest you contact BQ Office direct in regards to Winter Baseball.

I am sure though if someone was willing to organise a junior comp there would be enough players willing to play...

xecutor - BNR will be hosting BQ's off season "BRICKS" development program this winter. All of the information should be on our website www.bnr.baseball.com.au very soon. The program is 7-8 weeks long, incorporating skill development as well as possibly some intersquad/scrimmage games. Incidently, which club does your son play for?
