Criticism of Umpire in the threads
I have read and sometimes responded to various postings by various people in the forum, lately it has been on the Under 14 Nationals thread. The thread was put up for postings about the NYC, which worked well.
I will defend umpires, club umpires who I do, or do not know, QBUA umpires, ABF umpires, and any one who takes on the role of an official.
Yes, I understand everyone has an opinion, or a statement and it is a free country, but this does not let posters say anything they like, and feel that I should not make a comment. Some postings are presented in such a way that any thing we umpires say is incorrect or wrong or against the interest of the people playing baseball.
If anyone has ideas on how to make umpiring more attractive to people out there, or have good ideas, please send those ideas to the association with your contact information, as I'm sure we would like to talk to you more about those ideas.
A good start is, to find out more about the ABF and BQI policies on TRUE SPORT LIVES HERE program, I invite everyone to investigate this program.
I understand everyone's frustration when a call is not made correctly, but how to fix it, instead of just sticking the boot in.
People tell me that I over react, maybe, but give me 1% credit for standing up for those who decide to put themselves forward to the game so teams can play on a competition level. I'm allergic to cotton wool.
Once again, if you have some ideas, please put them forward to our association, or to the BQI.
