If you had to raise $500,000 to 1 mil a year for a ABL team what approach would you take first . Govt backed or private, come on gold coasters think. The gold coast is 6th biggest city in oz. We deserve a team..All you gold coast guests out there sign up and post your suggestions

Probably follow a similar path of GC17. Firstly get a show of support, signatures of people that follow the game. As the list grows, the level of company support/sponsorship should increase. At the same time approach council and QLD state gov to do there bit re funding, grounds etc. As they see they ground swell of public support they should increase there contribution.
On the support side, over summer we have 7 clubs each with between 70 and 100 juniors, plus parents and we start with almost 1500 signatures( 7*70=490+2*490=1470 if my sums are right). Then we have seniors 10 teams, so another 100 or so, then our 2 GBL clubs and we haven't even counted our winter comp of seniors and masters we should easily start with a couple of thousand supporters without looking outside the square
