A couple of points i would like to throw out there fellow baseball fans.......If this new National comp is going to be played at Windsor for the next three years then the "Lighting curfew is going to have an effect on these games as well. If we are truly are to achieve professional outlook for the future of this comp surely these games will need to played fully so as to end with a result, so a tied ball game may go on for many extra innings. Point number 2 Now I am not sure of the Brisbane City council by-laws but as a past proud Redlands Exec (many years ago) we had to have a council notice erected on site and I think a notice in the local paper to inform residents of the light towers which were erected with phone towers for a certain amount of time before construction. It only takes one resident to put in a complaint to hold up construction, so hence would this need to happen at Windsor before any of the upgrades were to take place??

In future, the lighting curfew will be much the same as a rain delay. The game will be continued on the next time the teams meet.

OK, is this a serious opinion / question or, are you one of a number of posters on the forum who post things to rile people or who pretend ignorance about things they know everything about? that fact that this fan posted his/her opinion on this forum shouldn't be subject to such sarcasm!!!! or be questioned on his/her oppinion...... whether you agree or disagree thats the point of of having such a forum as long as you keep to the forum guidelines!! I was at last sat nights game and thought that finishing the game at the bottom of the 8th inns was very unprofessional. I was enjoying the game and just hated the sudden ending. Whoa there people - this was not an attempt at sarcasm, it is a genuine question. There are in fact people on the forum who do exactly as I stated. Aussiemum, you know who I am and I know who you are. You don't know me well enough I'm afraid. Apologise if my question offended the poster, it wasn’t my intention. Even puff didn’t get so angry with me……………………..

Not sure if the QLD Forum members access the Aussie Baseball Radio Forum, but here is something Jon Deeble posted there after the success of the VIC vs NSW Claxton Shield game at Latrobe university on Friday 4/12 -
“heres the great news from MLB and it is all due to those who came out or bought tickets last night
MLB loved the night and there is a good POSSIBILTY i repeat POSSIBILTY that the 1st round of the 2012 World baseball classic will be played in Australia at Ethihad stadium old telstra dome
also there is a push and a chancethat the MLB allstars will come to Australia next year to play the Australian Allstars. there is alot of water that needs to go under the bridge and a lot of hoops to jump through but MLB want this to happen
so thanks to all of you, the night was well worth it, statleine was there also they really liked it too”
This is very exciting and if it happens, we will definitely be there!
Good luck to our boys in Perth this weekend. Wish we could be there! Hope to be able to follow the games via the internet. If any of our loyal forum members are at the games, it would be good to get some updates over the weekend.

Average Joe, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I accept that but your statement is very broad. What parts of the Rams do you consider to be a joke and the laughing stock of Australian baseball???

AJ, you can have your opinion and I disagree 100%. I'm fairly sure all players at this level of Baseball have a healthy respect for each other and I don't have a problem if they get a bit fired up on field as long as they continue to execute mechanics and Coach's strategy correctly at game time. I know a few of the RAMs players, I'll be sure they get a copy of your post to stick on the dugout wall when they are busting their butts for the RAMS V Perth HEAT.

Proffesional baseballers shouldn't have to worry about what people write on public forums, they should be able to rise above it. Proffesional sportsmen and women are scrutinised day in and day out and is apart of their job and we the fans should be able to freely applaud or critisise as we feel the need too. If Baseball in this country is to become a mainstream sport, these type of comments will become more frequent and they will need to rise above it, but personally I would like to hear solutions that also go with critisism.
Just my 2 cents.

Let's see a lineup AJ, of in form club players you want playing Clacko.
Both Brisbane league leaders in average (Steve Greer) and slugging (Aven Fletcher) are both in the team. Calling them not in form?
Baker, Bevis, Nilsson, Nilsson, Shoenberger, Watson.
All guys I've seen dominate the local league this year

I do think Matthew Bates deserves a chance, there may be a reason he is not in the team though.

Averagejoe, can you tell us what we need to learn? You seem to have a lot of information about what we are doing wrong from all and sundry, so share, share, share......... If you find the whole experience of supporting our boys so painful and embarrassing, the $10 ticket and the food too expensive, why do you come to the games? The true fans, coaches and players will turn up no matter what, win or lose, whether we are the laughing stock or not, whether our players are in form or not. Why? Because we all love this game and whether you believe it or not, there is pride in wearing the uniform. Also, I doubt very much any of the people who really count in baseball think we are the laughing stock. People like Jon Deeble are breaking their backs to get this new ABL off the ground and I doubt very much that sort of thinking even crossed his mind. I believe most of the posters on here support the team even if they have voiced some negative opinions.

Hey average joe, you are going to have a hard time getting any of these baseball diehard dinosaurs to listen to anything outside of their way thinking. They have very set ideas. As you can tell, anything put on the forum outside of their ways is dismissed. In the meantime, QLD will continue to struggle until this outdated mentality has been flushed out.

Oh and by the way , sportsmanship means cheering for an opposing out of town team when they are introduced on the field at nationals. They are on the same team ... they are baseballers.
