The results are potentially saying a lot of things and I am sure everyone has an opinion about why the results are what they are. When teams are losing, there is a lot of frustration and a lot of finger pointing. I don't really want to voice my opinion about this topic too much and I may be speaking out of turn here, but I am 100% in favour of passion, but if that's the only sort of passion we can come up with, then we are really in trouble. Most of the SA players had a good laugh about it and I don't think it earned the RAMS any respect.

Passion is a strong word, but knowing most of these boys since a young age they have always had a strong passion for the game maybe just not enough passion in the team at the same time..... lthere is a lot that goes on behind the scenes before a big game, rub downs are a very big part of a professional baseball players fitness levels..... as they play on a daily basis in the pro leagues .....you don't get to see it as it would be done inside the dressing rooms.....so just because it just happens to be beside the dugout doesn't mean that the players are soft!!!!!
oh and another thing maybe the peanut butter sandwiches and pizzas are not the best food choices between and after games!!
PJ thanks for trying to put a spark into the 6th innings as for respect I think that some of those SA boys who waited until we left through the left field gate showed a lack of respect/restraint after the game in the car park..... game over

Might be time for something positive on the RAMS SUPPORTERS thread.
Wato's bat is so hot at the moment the bat boys hand got burned on sat night. Schoenberger is lofting balls over the fence with increasing regularity, His defence at SS is getting better every game Fletch is grabbing RBIs in most games, anytime now he will connect with one of his mighty swings and the ball itself will explode. Greery's bat is punching out some timely hits, and he is hitting his cuttoff every time. Baker is a lock to catch anything that is airborne for more than 4 seconds and he is hitting like a 3 hole hitter in the 9 spot. The Duttons, well they are just that, the Duttons. Wade leads by example with both offence and defence and Brad is just as professional as a coach could want. Always helping the rookies and so down to earth it's not funny. Joel has lifted the whole team with his presence and as you can see his bats are in fine order. Mitch is coming along just fine and he did a hell of a job in 39 degree heat a few weeks ago in Adelaide. Tristan Crawford is not on the roster at the moment but has not missed a home game or a single training session and is on call for any pitcher to draw some advice from his AAA experience. Matt Timms showed on sat night he is back as a high pressure closer. Daniel lamb hunt is a kiwi so that explains a lot. And the rest of the team don't like the losing feeling and will keep trying to win for the people who pay to come watch. Lets stay solid through good and bad and even cheer once and a while. In all games so far you can hear a pin drop from the pen through the first 5 innings, we'll do our job if you do yours and that is to SUPPORT US and not worry about a bloody massage table. ( Chris is doing a fantastic job. He is the physio by the way) If any of YOU have been there and done that, i welcome you down to the pen next series to enlighten me about how you did it when you played at the highest level in this country , or you could just let David Nilsson know face to face what he is doing wrong. Maybe you could leave your name at the end of your post and he will get back to you.
Yours truly Monty

What about Andy Utting? Can't stop that guy at the moment, batting .500 with a few dingers to his name. Loved the Windsor support last night especially, Mr. Knight certainly let's us all know when Trent Baker's batting Good stuff though, it's the kind of passion and support we need from the crowd ..even if it is a little bit alcohol fueled

What Monty, can't you hear me from the pen? Must admit though, I'm a bit busy early on in the game. Your passion and commitment has not gone unnoticed Monty as well as your faith in and loyalty to your fellow players. Knighty is a gem, always has been a keen supporter of his mates and a passionate baseball supporter. I have no problem with alcohol fuelled support. Support not abuse and giving the opposition a serve is all part of the game as long as it doesn't get personal - that I don't like. Knighty and Monty, good on you both.

I have attended games over both weekends and thoroughly enjoyed my nights...can't make Sat arvo because of junior games. I hope the team can hear us cheering because we certainly are!! I think the guys are showing terrific tenacity in the face of quality opposition and I congratulate the event organisers on the "whole show". Watching Ronny the Ram being chased by an increasing number of kids every game is hilarious (go Ronny!!!) and KJ has the kids and entertainment happening non-stop. The commentary, music and sound effects are really beaut and all these things add to the atmosphere.
Well done everyone but the word is out that a family needs to take out a second mortgage to eat when they come to the game. I know that I mentioned this in an earlier post but it is potentially a big problem for organisers that are trying to attract newer baseball families to the games. Quite a few people from our club are reluctant to come again next month because of the cost. People really don't want to bring their own food but one man I spoke to sent his son down to buy a hamburger, dagwood dog and carton of chips (no drinks) and it cost him $17!! Those of us with older kids that have been in baseball for a long time will always come back but you need to encourage younger families by making the outing better value.....

Weekend score line (and massage tables) aside, I thought that the game Saturday night was great!!! I went to the game purely as a spectator to be entertained and I really got my money's worth. The fact that the score throughout the game was close, meant that both teams were in the hunt and it was one of those edge-of-your-seat thrillers. There was a bunch of good hits (from both sides), some really close outs, a one-ball-pitching-innings (what's up with that) and a good crowd and I can't wait for the saturday night round against Victoria in December. I'll be booking my tickets for that game real soon.
The other great thing about Saturday night was that my kids had a blast, many thanks must go out to Ronnie who showed he can still cover the standing quarter mile faster than a rampant bunch of pre-teens, and also to KJ who has a big future ahead of him in children management if he ever decides to move away from baseball, maybe as the organiser for the wiggles. My kids came home with red cheeks and didn't complain about going to bed ... a sure fire sign that they really enjoyed themselves.
To me, this really is good FAMILY entertainment!!!

I agree that the price of food and drinks is very heavy so if I was in charge, I would rther have peole there brinign their own fodd than have no people at all.

Just to be clear, I will support the RAMS whether they win or lose and whether I have someone playing or not. I think PJ has a great mound pressence and shows the batters he means business, so that is great. I am talking about earning respect through the way we play the game and the way we are perceived by the opposition. Merely stating what I saw and overheard.
