Went down to Sydney for the games vs NSW last weekend. I must say that the spectator turnout from NSW was not very good - might be because they are charging more than both VIC and QLD for tickets. I don't know what has happened in previous years, but there was hardly an atmosphere.
As it was an away game for QLD, there were only 2 QLD supporters (other than a scout) there on Friday night (as far as I am aware) - yours truly and hubby and on Saturday 4 more QLD supporters attended. Believe me, I shouted as loudly as I could!
Our boys were great even though we lost 2 games. Quite a few were playing their first Claxton Shield games and the nerves showed every now and then. The fielding was not as sharp as it should be (even though the error count didn't reflect this). The pitching was also a bit rusty. BUT, it was great to be there to watch and I was proud of the efforts of such a young, mostly new team.
Standouts in my opinion were Simon Morris, Alan Schoenberger and Shane Watson.
Anyway, please can everyone call on all the people they know to attend the RAMS home games. Let's show the other states that we are the capital of baseball lovers in the nation. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get people to the games and how to create some atmoshere?

Well done to Ramsrus and Mr. Ramsrus for being vocal supporters for RAMS deep in "Cockroach" Country. Great effort by the young RAMS team in Series 1, taking one away game and almost getting 2. Stay tuned to the www.qldrams.baseball.com.au website as later this week , it will be updated to become the leading ABL team website in Australia. Promote the QLDRAMS website and New facebook page via your own Club networks will help. Sign-on for the RAMS Newsletter at their website to get up-to-date info. www.qldrams.baseball.com.au/feedback/response.asp?ID=94043I have it from a fairly close source that ALL the RAMS Home games will have a fun sound system for a great family and game time atmosphere. BRING at least one friend, family or neighbour for a cheap fun night out to a Sport they have not seen before.......I already have my RAMS season Family Ticket and plan to be at every RAMs Home game to cheer them on.

Disappointing loss to the RAMS last night. Wow.... over 1600 spectators in SA. We'll have to beat that. Keep your heads up boys and turn it around today. Hope to get a result the reverse of last Saturday.

I'd be nice if we could get a quarter of that crowd size next Friday

Interesting crowd numbers so far for the Claxton Shield, I feel the Qld games are being promoted very well, when my son returned from Sydney he said the crowd numbers were poor, not a very good atmosophere at all....I would love to see the Qlds fans out- number the other states, I know we can better the NSW figures but the SA crowd of 1600 was very very good....
