Schoey obviously a great 1 or 2 also, but he seems to be increasing in power as he gets older so I'll stick him at 3 with the older more experienced power bats at 4/5.

look at the stats in the local league, maybe find some new guys who can throw strikes and not use the claxton shield as a warm up for there up comming season in the usa, there i said it! Only 2 signed pitchers on the roster AJ, so which one is it that you have a problem with - Albury or Erasmus? My money is on Erasmus as it would explain why I got the responses from you that I did. I am not an expert on the new ABL, but isn't that exactly what MLB will use the ABL for???

I don't know if Linger is really in great form though. He's batting a mere .091, your 1 and 2 batters should be able to make good contact.
How about as your first 5.
1. Baker 2. Shoey 3. Naughton 4. Utting 5. Dutton, B

I saw a sweet swinging leftie playing for Wests against Padres this weekend. Not sure where he is from(rumour he is from WA but not sure) but I think the Rams coaches should ask questions. His name maybe Harriss and he hit 2 bombs.

One question -- are my grandson's BQI fees going toward funding of the Claxton Shield team? Like the U14's, do the players pay travel and accommodation costs? have thought long and hard on this one......If the players, coaches and staff had to pay to travel to each state and also pay for their accommodation I am certain Qld would probably not have a team....These players have family commitments, mortgages and jobs to think about......I know that my son was given the choice by his boss to turn up for work or he wouldn't have a job, He chose to play for QLD because he was committed to his team and his coaches, he will have to look for another job. I doubt very much if any BQI fees would be going toward funding a Claxton Shield team, it would come from corporate sponsorship..... Anyway I am looking forward to the games this weekend Queensland's have always loved to pay out on the Victorians......Go Queensland!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I think that most clubbies also sacrifice to play -- a lot of guys turn down Sunday work to play -- good to see the commitment by everyone.
Maybe BQI will shed some light, publicly, on how the team is financed.
Will be great to see the Vics go home with a series loss this weekend.

averagejoe, before you post your team of A Graders I'll give you a heads up of who you cannot use. Matthew Bates, Chris Mowday, David Sutherland, Ben Foster & Josh Roberts have all made themselves (for various reasons) UNAVAILABLE for the Rams this year. Also Jay Nilsson is injured and cannot play.

5 hits and 3 walks didn't help his cause.

They don't usually decide until right before the game from what it sounds in interviews with all the coaches, but surely you'd be expecting Bevis or maybe Timms? I don't know if Crawford or Lamb can last the distance

Erasmus is out this weekend because he is away on a holiday planned many months ago. I won't be at the games this weekend, so best of luck to the RAMS. I will spare lots of thoughts while I am cruising the Pacific Islands.
To all my fellow posters out there, have a safe and happy Christmas!
