FNC Lismore Timberjacks 10-11-12 July Always a Highlight of the QLD baseball calendar in my opinion. Many thanks to all the hard working FNC Lismore volunteers who put on a great Tournament every Winter. Brisbane METRO and Gold Coast Regions have plenty of teams attending all age groups, well done to them for supporting Timberjacks carnival. Even if you don't have kids playing there but can't wait for Summer Baseball season, go for a nice drive on the weekend to Lismore and watch some of the future RAMS players in Junior action. Have to share this story from last year Timberjacks. ;D ;D U14's and there was an Invitational Team from all over including ACT. U14 Coach was from ACT and his son was adopted and born in Cuba, I'll take an Oath and say he looked like Karmichael Hunt from the Broncos and had Legs about the same size. ( Bear in mind most of the U14 Kids were 1st year and just graduated from Little League ) He would have fitted in at the U20's game no problem and threw about the same... LOL. Anybody remember Carlos from "The BenchWarmers" ? ;D See you in Lismore..

Finally back from another great TJ tourney.
Many thanks to Leanne, Paul , Geoff, all the Volunteer Umps and all the Lismore volunteers for making it happen in very wet, muddy and tough conditions.
Especially thanks to all the Lismore ground staff who did it tough 1st 2 days and beforehand keeping the fields playable.
I hope FNC can get some council/govt. Funding for raised Asphalt or Deco paths for next year and maybe a couple of large super-soakers also.
I believe a Gold Coast Team won the 12's Brisbane METRO Red won 14's Not sure about 16's and 20's
I had a fun time helping to coach kids from other clubs and meeting parents from many clubs.
Some confusion over pitch count limits and how to apply them but other than that, I never heard of or saw one coach or parent going berserk over an Ump's call even in tense and close games. It was indeed a very good Friendship series..
Thank You FNC Lismore and see you next year.

Just starting to get organized for Timberjacks 2010 which will be held on July 9th - 11th. we sent a BADDYS (Brisbane and districts development youth squad) under 14's last year and had a great time with players and parents from all over brisbane in the team. This season we are intending to expand the BADDYS to under 16's ,under 14's and under 12's so we are looking for accredited coaches umpires and scorers as well as players for all the age groups. So if you are interested and not affiliated with teams already representing their regions feel free to drop me a line on three_de@bigpond.net.au We already have several players from across Brisbane and will get together sometime in early May to start organizing training and team members.
