Major C
Redlands d PH 11-10. Again, the tying run was stranded on third - there appears to be a pattern emerging here.
Wests d Windsor, if my sources aren't lying to me. They never do.
Major B
When I left Rapids, Ipswich were leading All Stars 2-1 bottom of 2nd. Boz with 3 big hits already, 2 using his bat and 1 using his helmet. Haha

Yeah thanks for that TeeBag. Our bats went quiet after you left. We let All Stars back into the game and they had some crucial hits at the right time. Won on a walk off double 5-3.
It was a solid hit with the helmet. Jaw is still feeling it.

Rapids beat Indians 13 to 8 Sunday 22/3. Excellent pitching performance from Dan Collie. Very good defence at 3rd base from Mitch Nilsson as well as very good batting performance. Dave Bylett from Indians batted 4 for 4.
Indians were not at the their best today and were beaten by the better team on the day. Some contentious calls from the umpires finally got too much for Peter Dutton who sprinted across the diamond to 3rd base from the 1st base dugout after a call at 3rd base. All sorted out without any issues.

Great pitchers duel between Matt Kilby and Mathew Bates.
Bates pitched complete game with a heap of strikeouts and only 2 or 3 hits allowed, I dont remember Rapids having a runner past 2nd base.
Kilby pitched 8.2.
Great series coming up against Surfers and Indians.

Final series has been great to finally watch some quality baseball.
Bring on an 8 team comp so we can see more of it!

Yup.
Just as long as it isn't my club that gets shafted. Or your club. Or anyone else's club, while we're at it.

"and theimport for surfers?"
Which one? Don't they have 2 Pitchers from Japan ?
After losing 2 of their best Pitchers to the Pro Minors spring training and still having awesome Pitching... I'm pulling for Indians to win now that my club is out.
It does highlight that real Pitching depth is what makes the top GBL teams however.
8 Teams Puff ?? how is the GBL ever going to get to 8 from 13?? Would all those 8 make Juniors criteria?

Maybe top 8 from this year.
If we get rid of teams that failed criteria then we have Surfers, Indians, Padres,Lightning,Windsor, Redlands,Wests and Narangaba in our Premier competition.
I look forward to driving to Bulldog Stadium at Darra to watch a match up of Wests and Narangba in our top competition.

I look forward to driving to Bulldog Stadium at Darra to watch a match up of Wests and Narangba in our top competition. I can tell you at least 1 of those 8 did not make initial Junior criteria also. Remember that last season was delayed 2 weeks to get clubs more active. I give BQ a lot of credit for helping to get more kids and clubs involved as possible. YES, of course we need a more condensed premier Major A comp. but let's not burn clubs to make it happen. I would find it very hard to let a Top 8 Premier Team in that did not have a strong Juniors program. Both Wests and Narangba made Juniors criteria from the start. Next season the writing should be on the wall for all clubs to get out there and recruit hard and often. Our sport is way too small for individual clubs not to pull their weight in Juniors development. Padres with 6 Senior Teams, Juniors across every age group and good coaching.. That should be the benchmark for all Clubs to aspire to. Not all can of course due to demographics, but all clubs should aspire harder next season.

On 1 hand we're complaining about the overall low standard of our A grade elite comp and on the other we say it's ok for clubs like Wests and Narangba and All Stars to get beat up every week because they have junior teams.
Is this the way it works in other sports? Why aren't some of the top junior league clubs like Aspley or Albany Creek playing in the Queensland Cup?
