For some reason or another we all like different Diamonds to play on. Tell us your favorite QLD Ballpark and why? ....

Northside : Pine Hills... Pretty park ( except for view of the dump ) and Pro minors style gameday commmentary and music/effects. Also Bunya sports club right there for post game dinner. AAA Lights coming in Feb 2009 also.
Southside : Redlands... Just a great facility , good canteen , good spectator viewing and nice looking Park + indoor batting cages. Always a good volunteer network on hand also.
Love FNC Lismore.. Usually travel at least once a year there with kids teams. They always have a great volunteer network and it's a fantastic facility.

Northside: when Pine Hills redo their dugouts they will be, but at the moment Padres may have the best.
Southside is Redlands (probably the only field in Brisbane capable of holding Claxton games0
Unfortunately Brisbane doesnt have a facility to match FNC. They have the best set up .

Pine Hills is beautiful if you can ignore the rumbling of the machines at the dump in the background. Padres will probably be the place on the Northside after they get their lights mid-next year.
I also don't mind the set-up of Indians, nice shaded area and canteen in between three close fields. Overall at the moment though, the premier baseball park in Queensland is Redlands.

For sure the PH dugouts a big negative. Probably along with All Stars the smallest in GBL. In planning to be re-built though but not sure when.
Padres is great also, I was there a few weeks back with Juniors and Love the big Dugouts and Helmet shelves. The Padres canteen and viewing deck is great.
I do however wish even those big dugouts had more open chain link fencing style for more air flow and better spectator viewing of the field...
Dugout Design maybe for another thread.

I am sure fred flintsone built the allstars dug outs. I have seen bigger bus shelters than those d/outs.

Padres probably have the best overall facilities on the northside. My alltime favourite field was the old Ipswich Spring St. It was a great playing surface as well as having good fans and atmosphere. Plus they had the best pies & hot dogs with peas.

Good call Bronco.
I remember going up to Spring St. Ipswich/Booval Field many times and watching the trains in the outfield.
Good memories YES.
Best Baseball Field... Not by a long shot compared to some of the current GBL fields.
Even though I'm now PH.. I will just give the nod to Padres on best of Northside fields... PH is catching up quickly though and has huge plans next 5 years....

I really enjoy playing at Narangba on the northside (especially at night....those lights are awesome, with the pitch black surrounding). Pine Hills is great as well.
Southside, Redlands is the easy choice.

Southside would have be Palm Meadows by a long shot.... Its just a shame no one can play there... Northside, my vote is with PHL.
I dont like the outfield at Redlands...

Northside - Padres for sure because they have taken the best from all fields around Brisbane and put it into one.
Southside- Has to be Redlands "when healthy".
I think some people need to look at the Question again and then look at there Response??
"My Favourite Ballpark to PLAY ON?"
I cant believe Indians got a Mention???

not a huge fan of padres, love their dugouts.
either pine hills or narangba on the north side.
ck's on the money about palm medows. its criminal that it only gets used for the aus camp. but i like redlands and the homer dome at surfers on the southside.
