Whats wrong with the rams?
After a slow start, rams seem to be improving overall except for one area. .....BULLPEN...
There must be some new unknown Pitchers with good stats in the Brissy league worth looking at for the bullpen? Give 'em a shot. What's wrong with Stockman ? Rams could use him if available.
Looks like a young team on the rebuild also missing the old stagers like D Nilsson, Durrington, Utting , Ough etc.
Did they have many warmup games or just jump straight into the claxton shield?

Ramsfan44.
I think you are right on the warm up games... From memory there was a few washouts in Brisbane with the bad weather when RAMS were scheduled to play Local imports team.
Bullpen for QLD.. ? Maybe try new talent...
The Pro blokes usually just need a break from baseball this time of year.

There is nothing wrong with the bullpen, the bottom line is they are up against the best hitters in this country. They have given brissy guys a go , me included, every single pitcher is giving 100%. Get in the loop, stocky was unavail, ough was injured, vietch is injured, T crawford is returning from an op. You didn't face the hitters , I did. Victoria is a hitting machine. The heat and pats are not far behind. I trust you will travel to lismore to support the guys on JAN 2. TRUST ME they are giving 100%

Game has 9 players and no one likes to lose. Pitchers are always in the limelight and are easy to pin the blame on. QLD have hit well, have a few hitters in the top 10 and sometimes have had more hits than the opposition. People need to remember the wind was howling in Mildura and our hitters did not have a good day. There is some dispute around as well about the disance to the home run boundary and whether it is standard. Must say, I have seen longer boundaries on a number of fields. Most games could have gone either way but luck was not on our side.

MOST definately.. all QLD fans should support the RAMS in their Home games.
Jan 2 : 7PM and Jan 3 : 5PM in Lismore
and Jan 4 : 1PM at Windsor Royals.
Let's all go out and support the RAMS to turn it around...
EDITED TO ADD:
I noticed the U14 Nationals start at Lismore on 4th Jan.
An ideal opportunity for those QLD U14 parents and kids to get down to Lismore a few days earlier and support the RAMS Seniors with the young QLD U14 team watching the games and cheering on the RAMS.

Thankyou for the support Mr Mod. The home crowd will make a big difference. If we sweep NSW which is possible ,all of a sudden we are back in the race for a playoff spot. I have no doubt the coaching staff will have the guys primed for a big turn around. I am busting my a-- to get back in the team and will die on the mound if i have to. Not one single player will give up till the last out. Buy your ticket now, come down and be a part of the team. You can and will be the difference.

As a relatively new follower, just a question. Are there playing requirements for Claxton Shield players? Is the Claxton Shield team selected from current registered players, after tryouts or do they apply?

highheat - good question. Not and expert, so a few questions..........Doesn't pitching need a work ethic and routine to keep in shape? Can you pitch well if you aren't playing on a regular basis? Isn't that why there is a thing called a pitching rotation so that routine is used to ensure the best possible performance? By the way, have it from reliable sources that Naylor has turned up each week to practices and pitched for his club prior to CS and if he hasn't pitched, it's been due to his MLB club restrictions.

Highheat, Have faith in the qld coaching staff,They know what they are doing . I sense an ulterior motive to your question. The best and most inform players are choosen from series to sereis, simple as that. All players who are in the 26 man queensland training squad know how it works and are happy with the system. Bottom line , if you are good enough you get a phone call.. PERIOD.

Every single player in the team (except Roneberg from cairns) plays in the brisbane league, when you said you were new you meant it. I have pitched to all these guys over the last 1 to 5 to 10 years.. Like i said if your little johnny is good enough he will get a call ...

Thanks, 17starter. I think you've answered my question.....so, no tryouts, players are contacted by the coaching staff who have identified the "best and most inform players" based on?? Do you have to be registered for a club/playing for a club to "get a phone call" from selectors?

Based on ? 1 . In my case , my era and work ethic for last 2 years plus this year. 2 . are you kicking butt right now .EG- last 2 months in bris or US college or minor league. 3 . ARE YOU A PROVEN PERFORMER. Don't worry about this registered club business. Claxton is for the elite. Not politically correct crap. Keep your questions coming , happy to help. Who do you want in the team?

You were kind enough to answer my questions. Please don't take the lil johnny comment personaly, not meant to be. If i had a dollar for every time a parent asked a hidden question or told me their boy is this and that and should be here or there i would sponsor the bris league..For a serious answer call BQI.Im sure they will have some info for you. Keep posting my friend..
