it's this rigidity in minors baseball that makes it so frustrating. remember, clubs are run by volunteers and amateurs so let's cut them some slack. so what if you haven't been timely in registering a team? it's not the end of the world though some seem to give the impression that if you're 3 days late you should be crucified!
why can't a draw be done for 3 weeks for the clubs that got in on time? it can be amended for any late additions. a computer does the draw anyway (or should) so it's only the press of a button so what's the big deal?
I would prefer it if another 20 teams joined the minors so I can play in varied locations against different opponents. the more the merrier! we want loads of guys (and girls) playing baseball and these die-hard supporters should be accomodated where possible.
too many people with a "that's the rule so stuff 'em" mentality instead of being flexible to achieve the best results.
looking at some of the results, the draw is going to have to be re-done anyway as there seems to be a clear disparity in playing strength by some teams and some will be promoted and some demoted, probably by choice.

Has it been decided, what the structure and dates of the SQBL A grade comp finals will be?

Popped into Carina Red Sox tonight to watch some of the GBL Masters in action and really enjoyed myself. The games that I saw were played in great spirit with lots of laughs and sportsmanship. This is a great attempt from BQ to broaden the scope of our sport in SEQ and every club should think about trying to get a team of over 35s into it next season.
Congrats to Carina who had worked hard all afternoon to have the fields playable after quite a bit of rain....it looked terrific.
Saw a 64year old mixing it with the "young blokes" tonight. He made a great play at second and even managed to steal a couple of bases. Is there anyone currently playing in SEQ that is more senior to this guy?
